When you first get your new dentures, it will take some time for your mouth to adjust to them. Here's a few soft food suggestions to help you to eat comfortably during this time, without getting bored.
Plan Ahead
In the first days after your extraction and also following your first fitting for your new dentures, you'll need to subsist on a diet of soft and liquid foods while your mouth heals, and becomes accustomed to your dentures.
Often people look on these dietary limitations with trepidation, but this type of diet doesn't have to be boring! Planning ahead and having interesting meal and snack options at home and ready during this uncomfortable time is the key to enjoying a varied and tasty diet. It will really help to spend some time cooking and freezing your favourite soft meals, doing some menu planning, and making planned trips to the grocery store to stock up on supplies.
If you need to have teeth extracted, or have to go for a time without teeth while your dentures are prepared, you might not feel up to going out more than absolutely necessary. So, planning ahead will really help you get through this time.
