For many people, Invisalign® clear aligners can help to straighten teeth, and correct bite issues, without the need for wires and brackets. In today's post, our Surrey and Langley dentists explain how the Invisalign treatment process works, from start to finish.
Are you ready for a straighter smile?
If you are looking for an orthodontic treatment to straighten your teeth or correct a bite issue, but don't want the look of traditional metal braces, Invisalign may be the ideal orthodontic treatment for you!
Here's how the Invisalign treatment process works:
1 - Book a Consultation
The first step on your journey to straighter teeth is to visit your Surrey or Langley dentist for an Invisalign consultation.
During this consultation your dentist will thoroughly examine your teeth and bite to determine whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign treatment.
If Invisalign is right for you, your dentist will do a series of detailed scans using our iTero 3D intraoral scanning technology and show you a preview of what your smile could look like once your treatment is complete.
2 - Your Custom Treatment Plan
Every smile is unique. Based on your smile goals and the results of your detailed iTero scans, your dentist will create a personalized treatment plan for you and only you! Your personalized treatment plan will map out the steps of your Invisalign treatment, and provide you with insights regarding timelines and what you can expect from your Invisalign clear aligner treatment.
3 - Your Aligners Are Customized for You
Each clear aligner in your treatment series will be created specifically to fit your smile. Throughout your treatment the custom made aligners will gently guide your teeth into their desired positions. Invisalign aligners are made out of a clear flexible plastic and do not contain any gluten, BPA, or BPS.
4 - A Straighter Smile Starts Here
As soon as your first series of aligners arrive at your dentist's office you will be contacted to come pick them up and your treatment can begin.
While you're picking up your aligners, your dentist will check to ensure that your aligners fit correctly, show you how to wear them properly, review your treatment plan with you, and answer any questions you may have about your treatment.
After that, you will only need to visit your dentist every 6-8 weeks so that your dentist can monitor your progress and make any adjustments to your treatment that may be required.
5 - Nothing Can Stop You Now
Your Invisalign custom aligners will be almost invisible while you're wearing them. That means hardly anyone will notice that you're straightening your teeth. And your Invisalign aligners are removable so there's no need to make any changes to your diet. With the discreet low-profile design of Invisalign aligners you will feel confident smiling even while you are straightening your teeth.
